My Story

First let me start by saying create is my absolute FAVORITE word.  A small part of me gets excited whenever I see it.  Okay, let’s begin.

As far back as I can remember I was displaying right brained tendencies.  I was/am a dreamer for sure.  I had a set of Legos that I constantly built houses from and years later I was introduced to Kinex where I built carriages that my Barbie horse toted around.  There wasn’t a piece of paper that didn’t have a dinosaur on it.  I built mansions with a Lion King tent a chair and some blankets and forts with Girl Scout cookie boxes (my mother was the troop leader).  Those didn’t last long.

I was first introduced to sewing in high school and fell instantly in love.   A few class projects later and I got a sewing machine for Christmas.  Of the projects I remember I made a neck pillow that read “dream,” a pair of pajama pants and a Tigger tote bag.  I was bitten by the bug for sure!  Unfortunately a machine mishap left it collecting dust in the corner…for about eight years.

During that time I graduated high school and moved on to college.  During the latter half of my high school career I took an interest in architecture and interior design.  What a turn from the veterinarian I wanted to be as a child, huh?  As with many college students I changed my major one or three times.  I finally settled on studio art with a minor in business management.  In the process I was introduced to the fine arts as well as some other art classes and some art history.

After college I decided to try to figure out what was wrong with my sewing machine.  It turns out the bobbin was just jammed.  A problem I am now so used to fixing that I am still in awe that eight years went by with that being the only problem.  It is the machine I still use now.  I started getting back into the swing of things and then I was extended the opportunity to participate in my very first craft fair and I’ve been going ever since.

I am no stranger to blogging.  I started on Live Journal and even had a natural hair journey blog.  And then there’s this so called healthy living blog over here.  I’ll share the links for those of you who are interested.  I realized how much I like to blog when it hit me that every time I make a change I wonder how well I can document in on the web.  And I’m an introvert.  Go figure.  So after a few months of sewing and selling I knew it was only a matter of time before this came into existence.

I also enjoy cooking.  Two goals I have are to (1) blow the mind of a picky eater and (2) find a good cookbook and make every recipe.  Even the ones made with foods I don’t like.

What can you expect from this blog?  Crafts, design, sewing, flowers, art, food, randomness, useful information, stories and so much more.
