It’s the time of year where no one will question my desire for a cup of hot chocolate. Well, not like I really need an excuse, but you know. White chocolate is my absolute favorite and I’m always trying new ways to eat it. Someone told me straight out of the bag isn’t the best of ideas. Oops?
Ingredients:

Add half and half, milk, and evaporated milk to a sauce pan.

Turn stove to medium. Once milk is almost hot (DO NOT LET THIS BOIL), turn down heat to medium low. Add chocolate chips and stir until melted.

Stir in nutmeg and cardamom. Start with 2 tsp of vanilla extract, then add more one tsp at a time until desired flavor.

Pour into your favorite mug and enjoy! I store the rest in a mason jar. Just shake it before you pour into a mug and heat it up. I’m pretty sure spiced rum would go nicely with this. Or maybe a bit of bourbon. Somebody try it and let me know. 🙂

Recipe:
2 cups half and half
2 cups milk
5 oz can evaporated milk
1 cup white chocolate chips
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp cardamom
2-4 tsp vanilla extract
- Combine half and half, milk, and condensed milk to a sauce pan.
- Heat until just hot over medium heat. DO NOT BOIL. Turn down heat to medium low and add white chocolate chips. Stir until melted.
- Add nutmeg, cardamom, and 2 tsp vanilla extract. Add more a tsp at a time if desired.
- Serve. Yields about 4 1/2 cups.
