…even though it was supposed to be a shirt. lol

I’ve been watching videos from this awesome lady for the last few days and I decided to give her double peplum shirt a try. I messed up the first one by making the shirt too small, so I had to go out and buy more fabric. This was a knit fabric so the drape was different than the stretch twill with which I started. About halfway through, I realized that it wasn’t going to be what I wanted it to be, but I kept on truckin and this is what I came up with. For a first attempt I’m pleased. I handled the knit fabric a lot better than I have in the past which is major progress. I still have to do some finishing work. I was considering adding a lace trim to the neck line to act as a statement necklace. Even though the shirt was too small I went ahead and finished the first half attempt. It came out perfectly. Tomorrow I plan on buying more of the stretch twill fabric and trying again. I’ll post those pictures all at once.
I’ve been sitting on two dress ideas because they are spring and summery and it’s just turned February, but I can’t wait any longer. Look for those in the next few weeks.
ALSO, I’ve got two pairs of ripped jeans that I plan on turning into shorts. I’m gonna wing it, much like I did here, so we’ll see how that turns out.
AND, I’ve got everything I need for my jar. I’m not exactly sure what to call it. You may have seen the meme going around at the beginning of the year about writing something positive on a piece of paper and putting it in a jar and then reading them all at the end of the year. Well, someone asked me to make one for a friend and I was so pleased with how it came out that I decided to make one of my own. I’ve been writing down at least three things everyday since February 1st so there will be something to start things off with.
Until next time!
